Program overview
A unique teaching practicum in Japan
GHJ International, in partnership with the Munakata City government and local board of education, offers a unique English Teaching Practicum in Japan for college students and graduates. During the Summer, Fall, and Winter, three groups of 20–30 participants take part in the full program together.
Comprehensive TEFL training
Learn the fundamentals of teaching English as a foreign language through hands-on workshops led by experienced instructors.
Real classroom experience
Put your training into practice with low-stress team teaching in Munakata City's public schools.
Japanese language practice
Improve your Japanese skills with support from university tutors during the program.
120-hour TEFL Certificate
Optionally earn a 120-hour TEFL Certificate together with your team upon completion.
English day camps
Lead a series of high-energy English day camps that bring language learning to life for local students.
Where you will stay: Living in Munakata
Our home base is Global Arena in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, with sports stadiums, training facilities, meeting rooms, and restaurants, all surrounded by nature.

Interview & selection
Selection is based on your purpose for joining, experience working with children or teaching, Zoom interviews, and/or recommendations from our partner schools.
